About the college

Patharkhmah Model Degree College is the first government college in Ri- Bhoi District of Meghalaya, initiated under Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), a growing institution of higher education committed to academic excellence and holistic development. It is located on the hilltop of Patharkhmah Village, in Ri-Bhoi District, Meghalaya (793102) under Jirang C & RD Block. Patharkhmah is a well-developed village that offers various facilities, making it a convenient and accessible area, where Students from different areas and nearby places are welcomed to pursue their higher education in this institution, which is known for its peaceful and scenic environment that enhances the overall learning experience of the students.

Patharkhmah Model Degree College Patharkhmah, affiliated to captain Williamson Sangma State University. It was established on the 25th may, 2022. with an Area of 10.09 Acres. This college is at a distance of around 1.5km from the main MRA (Mairang, Rani-go down, Azra) road, 58km from our Head Quarter District (Nongpoh), 110km from Shillong and 31.9km from Assam.

At present, the college campus has an academic block building and a separate hostel facility for both boys and girls, with a capacity of 60 hostellers in each building.

As of now, the college offers only Arts Stream at the Undergraduate level, in which Science and Commerce streams are yet to be introduced.

Starting from a humble beginning, PMDC has remained committed to empowering the youth of Meghalaya, especially in Ri-Bhoi District, through relevant and innovative education. It helps students develop their skills, excel in their chosen fields, and inspires them to serve society with dedication and responsibility.
